Zonta
The gentle, soulful face
I captured in this painting belongs to Zonta, a rescued wild mustang.
She came into my life when she was adopted by my sister Jill whose
Southern California ranch also includes four Icelandic horses. "Zonta"
roughly translates into "one who helps." It is an apt monicker since
opening gates and helping her friends escape is one of her skills! As
you might guess, she is full of personality, smart and unendingly
curious. The branding you see on Zonta's neck marks her as a registered
mustang. |
